Coppter Water Technologies Ltd. is an Israeli start-up. Established in April, 2022, Coppter was founded upon an innovative Cu+ (monovalent copper ion) technology for water disinfection, developed by Dr. Magal Saphier and Dr. Oshra Saphier, researchers at Sami Shamoon College of Engineering (SCE), Beer-Sheva.

 

Coppter replaces chlorine as a disinfecting agent with a proprietary copper based device, which purifies water in an environmentally friendly way, eliminating chlorine’s safety, health and environmental damages.

Coppter’s initial target markets are swimming pools and jacuzzies, as well as giant water and wastewater treatment market. Next stage markets include aquaculture and hydroponic agriculture.

In addition to its health and safety benefits, Coppter’s device is highly cost effective, significantly reducing the high energy consumption compared to alternate wastewater disinfection technologies, such as UV and Ozonation.
